Urban Climate Architects has conducted research on developing a sustainable housing project on Statenjachtstraat in Amsterdam.
The study emphasizes innovative designs that balance architectural quality, sustainability, and social interaction.
The keyfocus areas include:
Optimal Integration into the Environment:
Minimizing shadows and preserving views for neighboring buildings by strategically varying building heights and positioning height accents.
Sustainable Design:
Incorporating communal and private green spaces, such as roof gardens, climbing plants, and green facades.
Social Interaction:
Designing vibrant ground-level spaces that encourage social connections, featuring meeting areas, restaurants, and accessible facilities for both residents and visitors.
Functional Distribution:
Efficiently organizing spaces for car and bicycle parking, diverse housing types (social,mid-range, and free-market), and communal meeting areas.
This research resulted in three conceptual designs, each offering a distinct approach to integrating greenery, sustainability, and living comfort.
