In 2021, we had the privilege of designing a new residential building on Sterrebosstraat in Groningen. The plot featured a wide access strip leading to the interior of the urban block, of which a portion was available for construction. This unique opportunity allowed us to create an exceptional masonry structure, with meticulous attention to its appearance and detailing.
For this project, we chose a distinctive Vogelensangh brick in Hilversum format with a recessed joint. The façade features roll layers, and the side wall showcases alternating protruding brickwork layers, adding depth and texture to the design.
Our collaboration with ahighly involved and precise client was key to this project. Their active participation ensured that their vision for the layout and appearance of the building was accurately reflected in the final design. This project exemplifies our commitment to working closely with our clients, which we believe is acrucial aspect of an architect's process.
