A Creative hub for urban innovation
Located on the Suikerunie terrain, Stadslab serves as Groningen’s vibrant creative center. Once the site of a historic sugar factory, this area has been transformed into a dynamic stage for urban experimentation. It hosts innovative concepts for living, working, tourism, recreation, and entertainment,continuing Groningen's tradition of reimagining and redeveloping urban spaces.
Flexible exhibition and event space
Stadslabcomprises three distinct areas:
· Two Cylindrical Sheds: Each 520 m², designed for exhibitions and events.
· Central Hall: A 600 m² multifunctional space that serves as a meeting place and restaurant, with the flexibility to open up entirely to create a large stage.
This versatility allows the space to quickly transform into a festival venue or concert stage.
Transformative design
The design of Stadslab enables seamless transitions between different functions, making it ideal for a wide range of activities and events. Its adaptable layout supports Groningen’s vision of a creative and interactive urban environment.
