The iconic building, known for its distinctive bell façade, is undergoing a major renovation, including a modern topping is added without losing its historic charm. A Surprising Transformation of a National Monument

The building at Vismarkt 40 used to be a classic example of old architecture, but showed signs of aging. In this transformation the monument is respected, while retaining its original features such as the bell gable, while adding new elements that improve the functionality of the building.

Topping and Modern Additions to Vismarkt 40

The topping the back of the building has been carefully designed to maintain the architectural balance. Large glass panels provide plenty of natural light, while the sleek aluminum edges provide a modern look. Adding spacious balconies not only provides additional outdoor space, but also increases the quality of living in this city center of Groningen.
