Contemporary architecture on the Sterrebosstraat in Groningen
In 2021, we designed a unique residential building on the Sterrebosstraat in Groningen. Thanks to the wide access to the inner courtyard of the city block, space was created for a special design. This location gave us the opportunity to create a sophisticated architecture that focuses on brickwork and detail.
Characteristic facades and high-quality materials
For the façade, we chose the famous Vogelensangh stone in Hilversum format, finished with a recessed joint for an elegant look. Rolls and alternating layers of masonry provide relief and rhythm in the facades. This adds visual depth and reinforces the building's characteristic.
Collaboration as a basis for quality
An important part of this project was the intensive cooperation with the client. Thanks to their active involvement, we were able to perfectly translate their ideas into a functional and aesthetic design. For us, this collaboration is an essential part of good architecture.
Architecture that adapts to the city
This residential building contributes to the architectural quality of Groningen. The design matches the scale of the street and adds a contemporary layer to the urban fabric. Through the choice of materials, rhythm and detailing, a building is created that adapts to its surroundings while still showing character.
With this project, we are not only making a sustainable housing solution, but also a tangible contribution to Groningen's urban architecture.
