A Smart City Project
Herestraat 42 covers three lots and borders a national monument. The ground floor retail space, with a basement, is already in full use and contributes to the city's vibrant atmosphere. Due to the tight location, an innovative construction method was used: the elevator shaft temporarily served as a tower crane. Ten new apartments are being built above the shops — quiet, bright living areas with stunning views of the city.

At Herestraat 42, this technique is being used to build ten new apartments without additional land use. By using light and sustainable materials, the impact on the existing building remains minimal.
