Biobased construction with CLT: Wooden high-rise buildings for a sustainable future
Commissioned by The Urban Woods, Urban Climate Architects, together with CLT-S and Arcadis, is developing a groundbreaking project in timber construction. This 10-story low-carbon residential building will be built entirely with Cross-laminatedTimber (CLT), with no concrete or steel at its core. This marks a revolutionary step in biobased construction and scalable circular wood structures.
Net-zero and circular: building with natural materials
The building breathes and grows back: a fully biobased shell, with inner walls made of flax and wood fiber as insulation material. We aim for a net-zero impact by combining sustainable materials and energy efficiency.
Flexible and demountable: the future of timber construction
Thanks to smart design, the spaces can be easily adapted. Does the layout need to change? No problem. At the end of their lifespan, almost all materials are reusable or biodegradable. This makes circular timber construction an essential part of the future.
